Indie Weddings Month 2012: Photographer Interviews – Alice Hu Photography
Please help me in welcoming Alice of Alice Hu Photography. Serving Costa Mesa, CA, and out of town weddings.
Can you tell me a little bit about how you got started as a photographer?
Ever since my first photo class in the 5th grade, I've been in love with photography. My professional career started when I was in college and started photographing products for WeddingChannel. Ever since then (10 years), I've been holding a camera every chance I get!
Where are you located? Do you travel for shoots?
My studio is based in Costa Mesa, CA. I love traveling and have been lucky enough to photograph breathtaking weddings from St. John to Thailand.
What makes you different than other photographers?
I like to have fun so I make sure my subjects are also having fun. I also love color so my images are always bright and cheery.
How do you make wedding and engagement sessions different?
It's all about the couple. I try to let them enjoy their big day and have fun. My style is a mix of pretty portraits and candid moments.
Is supporting independent businesses like yours important to you, and if so, why?
Absolutely! It is important to support other independent businesses because I started as an independent business. I understand the struggles but also the great rewards.
What types of photography do you offer?
Everything from weddings, portraits, boudoir, families, to babies!
