Inspirational Vintage Furniture Fix-up from May December Home

My sister and brother-in-law were cleaning out their basement and
getting rid of his family’s funky old 50’s era kitchen table. I said
"Sure, I’ll take it".
I didn’t take any before pictures of this project (when will I
learn?). The table had been so well-used that the finish on the top
had worn off – to the point that the colour was different.
on a coat of Zinsser 123 High Adhesion Primer (it’s one of my favourite
products in the history of re-purposing!). This allowed me to paint it
with a cream-coloured interior latex. When that was done, the table
looked fresh, but a little dull.

I had saved the wrappers from a box of chocolates – they had
pictures of Paris buildings on them, which was cool. I cut the
wrappers into trapezoids and glued them on the table. Better, but not
quite there. A package of sticky dots from the office supply store did
the trick.
Be sure to visit Barb’s blog, it is very inspirational and her transformations are so much fun and her Etsy Shop MayDecemberHome for original paintings and artwork.
Thanks Barb!
I absolutely love the mid-century style chairs with the 1950s kitchy table. I mean I really love it… Hmmmmm… Time to start hunting!
