Spring Organzing with Vintage Finds: Scrapbook Room (Part Two)

Our contributing
editor Elizabeth Young, just finished organizing and setting up her
moms new scrapbook room. They've successfully created a dreamy crafting
space reusing vintage furniture and other various finds.   See Part One of this feature here.

Drawers

Sewing drawers are used for storing
miscellaneous tools, inks and punches.

SuitCases

Suitcases make inexpensive storage
containers and can be stacked as a space saver or kept open to display a
collection of scrapbook items.

 Cream Cheese Boxes

Another great find was an apparently handmade box with shallow wooden
cream cheese boxes used as drawers.  Complete with dividers, it makes
the perfect storage unit for smaller embellishments such as brads, buttons and
clips.

Box

Picnic baskets and wooden crates can be used for bulkier or
larger items such as fabric and over-sized papers.

FrideDrawers

Vintage refrigerator
drawers also adorn the room holding carded buttons and old feed sack
material.

 Drawer Unit

Wooden drawer units and divided shelves are used to store stickers, ribbons
and flowers.   Inexpensive glass jars found at thrift stores and craft
stores make perfect containers to store ribbon,
lace, chipboard and buttons.

 Pictures

Over sized vintage style letters spell the word Create along one wall and
curtain rods display novelty greeting cards and old photographs.

The possibilities when decorating vintage style are endless, often
inexpensive and can provide the scrapbooker or crafter with a
truly unique and one of a kind room.
