Shop Indie – Plush Pillow Accents
After venturing out and buying my very first sewing machine, it looks as if those accent pillows I wanted to make are a little farther into the future than I had visioned. I haven’t given up on sewing, I think now my problem is finding the time to practice. Either way I have gained a huge amount of respect for all of those sewing divas out there. In between practicing and summer maybe I’ll eventually get some plush pillow accents ready for fall or holidays. If you are like me and have high hopes for sewing, but just haven’t found the time, I’ve found some great indie made vintage style pillows that will do more than just accent.
Vintage pillows are so neat. Whether their made from some leftover scraps from a sewing project a loved one made or from an old vintage table cloth it seams each one tells a story. I found some fantastic examples. Check out our first feature from dottieangel’s Etsy shop. These Nora Retro cushions are make using a vintage "retro" style table cloth, then accented accented with lace. These would look beautiful on a front porch swing.
Next I landed on strawberryhil on Etsy. This adorable shop is filled with vintage plushies. Including this fantastic Flying in Ivy pillow. This pillow made from a vintage tea towel is darling with it’s cute red rick-rack trim. I just love it!
I also love this pillow Catch of the Day made of a vintage fish market place mat also by strawberryhil.
Lastly on our plush accent hunt is shop ninispins and this completely hand sewn Blue and Grey Sky Patchwork Pillow. This soft fluffy pillow is stuffed to perfection and the color combo is a perfect blend vintage fabric blues.
Indulge in indie plush accents and support the hand made community with one of these fantastic finds for your home.
