Bridal Shower: Perfect Wines with Anu Karwa of Swirl Events

Bridal Shower Perfect Wines:

Wine is a must at most bridal showers.  Here are perfect
shower picks from sommelier Anu Karwa, who runs Swirl Events, the private wine tasting party company with a fresh, hip
approach in New York. Check out her blog for more budget friendly wine choices
and entertaining tips.

1. You need something bubbly! Try the Sorelle Bronca Prosecco
from Veneto, Italy and made by a team of sisters. It's super fresh and crisp
and bursts with apple and pear flavors.

2.  Add the perfect feminine touch with a bit of Rose that
isn't cloyingly sweet but still looks beautiful in your glass. Try the Crios
Rose of Malbec from "It-Girl" winemaker, Susana Balbo of Mendoza,
Argentina.

3. Try an easy Champagne cocktail – blend a handful of
strawberries, 1/4 tsp vanilla extract, 1/4 tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice, and
1 tsp of sugar.  Pour it in a flute, top with 6 ozs of Champagne. Garnish
with a strawberry.  Set of these cocktails to hand to your guests when
they walk in the door.

4. Pick a red wine from the country where the bride is going on
her honeymoon. I chose a Carmenere from Chile, their signature wine.

5. For the bride with a spicy side, try the Green Point Shiraz
from Australia. It has a black pepper kick with plenty of dark berry fruit.
