Vintage England: With International Guest Contributor Natasha
I love to wander around vintage shops
and markets, and occasionally I find a real gem worth sharing with
you! Perched in the heart of Notting Hill, a
stones throw away from Notting Hill Gate tube station, is Mimi Fifi –
a vintage toy and accessory collectors paradise, located at 27 Pembridge Road, Notting Hill Gate, London, W11 3HG
For those not familiar with the shop,
Mimi Fifi consists of illuminated cabinets filled to the brim with
toys and accessories. The shop resembles a vintage toy museum; but
being a shop, you can actually purchase the amazing items on display!
The enchanting cabinets spill over
three floors, taking the customer on an exciting journey through
vintage toy heaven. The toys are grouped into type; for example,
Mickey Mouse, the Smurfs, Bambi, Kewpies, Snoopy and Felix the Cat.
There are vintage toys from every decade and there is certainly
something to interest everyone.
The owner, Benjamin, said he 'prefers
old things to new' and told me he has a huge collection of toys in
his house and in the basement of the shop.
I have been shopping in Mimi Fifi for
ten years, and I can confirm the shop is always overflowing with
exciting and often unusual vintage toys and accessories. I challenge
any vintage lover to leave the shop empty handed!
You can also shop Mimi Fifi online .
