The vintage premise behind the pillow case dress is the idea of the pillowcase dress itself that is vintage. Sewing
clothes for children has pulled our family through hard times for
generations. My Grandmothers grandmother sewed flour sack and
pillowcase dresses, I am simply carrying on that tradition as a way to
get by while I raise two children. In their time it was a way of using
what you had, and a pillowcase would certainly not lay idly by whilst a
"youngin" went without! These days, I have a choice of so many fabrics
so I haven’t yet used an actual pillowcase, I do however, use what I
have and every last bit of it…as you can see by my scrappy dolls!
