Teach Me: Essential Atlas of the World by Usborne

As home-schoolers it never ceases to amaze me the adventures that a single book can take you on. Just recently we received a copy of The Usborne Essential Atlas of the World to review. It took us on a fantastic journey all over the globe.

Essential Atlas Book Review

When we opened the book pages four and five started out our journey with Maps & Atlases. Teaching us the difference in Maps and Atlases. This book also happens to be an "internet-linked" book which means it provides you with internet-links to learn even further about the subject. After learning the differences, we moved on to learning what a map key is as well as a map scale.

Those two really peaked their interest. By the time this exploration was finished my boys were excited to create and outline of our living room including a map key. Only two pages in, and we've already learned so much. Next up we plan to move to pages six and seven to go over longitude and latitude since we covered that last year and start looking into the Earth with Satellite Movement, Remote Sensing and Satellite uses.
