Blog Action Day: Fighting Poverty

Today Vintage Indie is participating with thousand and thousands of blogs around the world for Blog Action Day. Blog Action Day is a  non-profit event where the hope is to join bloggers, podcasters and videocasters around the world to open discussions, and raise awareness about topics such as poverty.

Today thousands of people from every walk of life are joining together to fight poverty. In our own personal lives my husband and I are proud partners of Joyce Meyer Ministries. Some of you may know of Joyce Meyer from her books or television show. 

Joyce Meyer Ministries also founded Hand of Hope a world missions outreach. The most stunning stat from Hand of Hope is 28,000 which is the number of children who are fed each day by donations. Isn't that amazing!  Whether you help by participating in operations like Hand of Hope or you visit Blog Action's list of 88 Ways to do something about poverty, know that any amount, any time you can offer gets us one step closer to winning in our fight against poverty. There are so many worthy causes out there and today we hope by joining Blog Action Day we can open the minds and hearts of those around the globe to raise awareness of poverty.
