A Designers Story – Why You Should Choose Independent Designers by, Bonzie

Bonzie is a fashion and  wedding dress designer in
Southern Ireland. She was kind enough to share her passion and process
with us in celebration of Indie Weddings Month. This is part two in a
series written from Bonzie's point of view.

The wasteful and sometimes unethical practices of the design and
manufacturing process is an issue more people are aware of today than
ever before. As a result, many people are looking for alternatives.
Some brides find themselves in a dilemma when looking for their gown.

Luckily, there are designers in the marketplace who believe that
sustainability and fashion can work together. With many emerging
independent designers setting up shop, they are following a handmade
process that is probably much closer to the real definition of what
couture really is. Many Independent fashion designers are artisans and
are passionate about their craft. The love they feel for their work
creates a connection to the customer that mass produced items do not.
