Vintage Indie:
What led you to start your Tacky Back In Time Shop?Tacky Back In Time: My cousin who has a Crochet oriented Etsy shop called "Laace" turned me
on to Etsy. I loved it immediately! I had just started a mosaic etsy
shop known as Tackywacky, I got the name from a type of glue known as
"Tacky Glue". I was also thinking , at that same time, of another shop,
a supply shop. Since I’m always out looking for interesting vintage items for my shop
I happened on a huge box of vintage supplies. Yarn, fabric, sock monkey
kits, ribbon, etc. So it occurred to me that Etsy needed, not just a
supply shop, but a vintage supply shop! I also thought that the
supplies must not only be affordable, but downright "dirt cheap". That way, Etsy artisans could count on my shop to assist them in creating their
finished products as well as providing to be affordable.
Vintage Indie: What are your favorite items to sell?
Tacky Back In Time: I cannot sell an item that I
don’t love myself. I get very emotional involved when I’m searching for
items to offer on Tacky Back in Time; it’s a time consuming project. I
look high and low for supplies and very cool stuff to post in Tacky
Back in Time and I enjoy it immensely. Vintage fabric seems to be my
favorite item, I become very excited when I find a beautiful piece of
fabric, but I seriously connect with everything that I offer or the
items never make it to my shop.
Vintage Indie: How does vintage play an important role in your business?
Tacky Back in Time: Without
vintage lovers on Etsy, there would not be Tacky Back in Time! My
fellow Etsians have made Tacky Back in Time special!!
