11 Ideas for Repurposing Vintage in Your Wedding: with Kim of Trampoline!
It is my pleasure to welcome our special guest, Kim of Trampoline.
Hi there, I'm Kim, aka ethanollie, from the etsy shop Trampoline. I
credit my love of weddings and event planning as a big catalyst to the
development and launch of my vintage shop. Back when I got married,
about 14 years ago, the vintage-in-design industry hadn't really taken
off, so sourcing ideas for incorporating vintage style into your
wedding was nearly impossible. Today…well, for all you lucky
vintage loving brides, the sky's the limit. Nowadays you are more
likely to suffer form inspiration overload. Better feast than famine I
say!
I've put together a few things I feel are rife for re-purposing,
easy on the pocketbook and just downright pretty. So whether you
mosey over to your favorite thrift store, flea market or Etsy shop, put
some of these ideas to work, and create the wedding of your dreams.
Entertaining:
1st: vintage decanters. a really stunning way to "pretty up" your bar…they're a great way to serve a signature cocktail or even soft drinks)
2nd: vintage cheese domes. great for protecting confections
at outdoor weddings especially, or a really lovely bridal shower idea.
give them away as gifts to your bridesmaids after the party!)
3rd: vintage and antique cake stands.
their original purpose is obvious…but how about re-purposing for
centerpiece displays or to hold your guests table seating cards. and
they make the perfect wedding gift.)
Decor:
4th: vintage floral frogs.
this idea is perhaps my favorite for garden weddings. i'd use these to
hold table numbers or special photographs of the bride and groom)
5th 6th 7th: milk glass and vintage lab glass. a really unique idea for centerpieces…ones you'll truly want to keep after the big day)
Gifts:
8th 9th 10th: vintage neckties for your groomsmen. mini garden cloches for your bridesmaids. and don't forget your new bride or groom!
11th vintage cake topper.
Just
a few of the many, many wonderful ways vintage can play a part in your
big day…and then go on to become your most treasured keepsakes. Who
knows which of these very things might have graced weddings before
yours…and the very thought of that is what keeps me coming back again
and again. Thanks for having me Gabreial…and congratulations to you
all!
A special thank you to Kim. These are such fabulous ideas and your photography is amazing! Visit Kim at Trampoline.
